We will get stress if we really believe that we will not have any problem in this life.
Every day we must go out somewhere; to the office for workers; to the markets for mothers; to school and campuses for students, etc which means that there will be problem at least.
Perhaps traffic jams or facing people with different character which we do not get accustomed with. In this case we must manage ourselves not to get stress, we must have good ability to adapt ourselves in each situations we face.
Having that ability will make us survive.
How to deal with day-to-day situations which can make us stress? A wise man always suggest us to go through ourselves; to find peace within; to meditate.
What is the correlation between stess and meditate?
It is already proven that when someone in a meditative state triggers the brain to release neurotransmitters, including dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, and endorphins.
- Dopamine plays a key role in the brain’s ability to experience pleasure, feel rewarded, and maintain focus.
- Serotonin has a calming effect. It eases tension and helps us feel less stressed and more relaxed and focused. Low levels of this neurotransmitter have been linked to migraines, anxiety, bipolar disorder, apathy, feelings of worthlessness, fatigue, and insomnia.
- Oxytocin (the same chemical whose levels rise during sexual arousal and breastfeeding), is a pleasure hormone. It creates feelings of calm, contentment, and security, while reducing fear and anxiety.
- Endorphins are the chemicals that create the exhilaration commonly labeled “the runner’s high.” These neurotransmitters play many roles related to wellbeing, including decreasing feelings of pain and reducing the side effects of stress.
For meditations we can join Anand Ashram in Sunter for those who are in Jakarta or if you are in bali, Yogyakarta or Lampung, you may find Anand Ashram too.
Yes, meditation is a must for modern people just like us who live in this modern era.
Please, give it a try and you will see the difference...
